About JJ Golden
A second generation mastering engineer, JJ started working for Golden Mastering in 1998. Coming from a passionate background in music, recording and songwriting, he studied sound engineering at S.A.E -School of audio Engineering in London, UK. After graduating , he was offered a job as Technical Supervisor at SAE while freelancing as a recording / mixing engineer at the now defunct Pathway Studios in North London.
In 2020 JJ was nominated for 2 Grammys for Album of the Year with Black Pumas. He has mastered 6 grammy nominated albums and has been a panelist on numerous Tape Op / Potluck / AES & SXSW Audio Conferences. He is well known for his musical approach to mastering and ability to communicate in the languages of musician and engineer.
